Create a Welcome Message Template

The Welcome Message template is where you will identify any main keywords or negative keywords you want Olympia to follow when sending out friend requests. This is also where you will create the message you would like your new friends to receive.

Create a New Welcome Message Template from Your Olympia Google Chrome Extension

1.  Click on your Olympia Google Chrome extension.

2.  Click on “Create New Template”.

3.  Create a name for your Welcome Message Template so you know what message the person will be receiving as well as the keywords Olympia is following. Only you will see the template name.

4.  *Optional: Identify your main keywords. Olympia will send a friend request to profiles with these keywords. To enter in keywords, you can input them one at a time and press “enter” after inputting each keyword or separate them with a comma.

5.  *Optional: Identify your negative keywords. Olympia will not send a friend request to profiles with these keywords. Olympia will always consider negative keywords first. To enter in keywords, you can input them one at a time and press “enter” after inputting each keyword or separate them with a comma.

6.  Write the Welcome Message an individual will receive once they have accepted your friend request and you run the Welcome Message feature. In your Welcome Message you can use the short code, {firstname},  so the person will receive a personalized message with their name.

Important Information about Keywords

  • Olympia can allow up to “two compound keywords”. This means words such as “real estate”, “roofing construction”, “fitness owner”, and “gym owner” are acceptable keywords.
  • Olympia looks for the literal keyword.  For example, if a keyword is “market” and someone has “marketing” in their profile, Olympia will send a friend request to this person because “market” is within “marketing”.
  • The keywords do not differentiate nouns, using words like “female, male, United States” will not work with Olympia unless the potential profile has that specific word in their profile description.

Tips On How to Create an Effective Welcome Message

  • A greeting for the person.
  • A quick sentence to establish common ground.
  • An open-ended question to invoke a response.
  • We do not recommend you send a pitch directly within the Welcome Message. Pitching may cause your Welcome Message to be reported or marked as spam by recipients.
